Hello Ward IV Residents . . .

Deal with the School District
Jill and I want to let you know that the topic of conversation at our study session on June 15th will be the aquatics center that Adams 12 School District is proposing as a partnership with the city. We will be hearing all aspects of this potential project, and will need to consider if this is a good long term investment for the city that will generate some revenue. Although study sessions generally do not allow the public’s input or questions, those questions or comments you may have can be shared with us and we’ll carry them forward. The meeting is in Council Chambers beginning at 5:30P.

Albertsons closure
I’m sure by now you’ve all heard that the Albertsons at 104th and Huron will be closing probably in July. So far, the store on 120th is not included in the closure list. We wanted you all to be aware that the Huron store is leased by Albertsons, so it will be up to the owner of the building to fill this vacancy. Certainly, the city will work with the owner to fill that location with something that benefits all. I’ve heard many comments from Ward IV citizens that they really would like a food store.

Croke Reservoir Citizen Input

The last meeting for citizen input regarding rehabilitation of Croke Reservoir was held in late May. It was clear that there was mixed feelings when it came to how much natural versus park-like environment was desired. What was very clear however was that in the larger scheme of things, the priority for the entire area was the Huron shoreline. Attendees were very much in favor of moving the shoreline more westward, and creating a plaza effect with walkways and lighting in the area where Huron intersects with 106th. The entire project will take substantial funds, so we won’t see anything happen soon, but it was important that we determine the direction the citizens wanted us to go. There was also substantial support for closing off the area during spring breeding/nesting season, and to prohibit dogs inside the reservoir area.
Thank you to a group of anonymous citizens who cleaned and picked up garbage in late May. Northglenn citizens are the best.

2006 Street Work for Ward IV

Based on available capital improvement money, the following Ward IV streets will be addressed this year:
